You may be able to see the northern lights this weekend! According to the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, a Geomagnetic Storm Watch has been issued due to a pair of coronal mass ejections that are anticipated to arrive from Friday through Sunday.
The Aurora Borealis' "viewline" will extend across the United States and Canada. Reports indicate that the best chance of seeing the northern lights will be late Friday night, between 7–11 p.m.
SWPC Forecasters have issues G3 (Strong) Geomagnetic Storm Watches for 04-06 October due to a pair of coronal mass ejections that are anticipated to arrive over the course of the next three UTC days.
