Eastern Market

225 7th St. SE, Washington, D.C., 20003 Eastern Market is so much more than just a farmers market. Here you’ll find artisan products, paintings, jewelry, sculptures, even furniture. But what you’ll also find is a large assortment of fresh produce, as well as homemade jams, butters, and spreads. It’s open every Saturday and Sunday year-round, no matter the weather. FRESHFARM Farmers Markets

Because they’re local, they are able to widely serve the Washington, D.C., area, and have several farmers markets around the city, each one happening on a different day of the week (which can often conveniently fall on a weekday so you can pick up your dinner ingredients on the way home from work or during your lunch break). 14thand U Farmers Market

2000 14th St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20009 The farmers market 14thand U is a seasonal market, operating from late May to mid-November every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but it’s really fun to be at in the summer. This intersection is known for its bars and restaurants, so make a day of it. Come out in the morning to stock up on produce, taste some freshly squeezed juice and baked pastries, and then hang out on one of the patios with a mimosa or bloody mary.
