Your Keys to the City started a program to bring the people and art of Denver together – They are now looking for new talent to keep 16th Street artsy!
For almost 10 years the path along 16th St. Mall has been lined with colorful pieces of musical artwork. The Your Keys to the City program began to allow residents and tourists alike to interact with public areas in innovative, and most importantly, creative ways. The several painted pianos that add a unique touch to the 16th Street aesthetic were the star installment of the Your Keys to the City program, managed by the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District. The program was developed to encourage people to spend more time in Denver's public spaces. More namely, 16th St. Mall. City officials are asking artists to submit design ideas for 10 new pianos to be featured at the mall! If you'd like to participate, designs should be entered by Wednesday, April 19! The 10 winning designs will be chosen on May 1 and each artist selected will be reimbursed for supplies up to $150.
