Throughout the month of June, youth at Edge on Employment in Windsor are stepping up to make a difference for the unhoused. The group is hosting Windsor Has Heart, a community drive to collect summer essentials for those experiencing homelessness in West Hants. Donation drop boxes are available in Windsor at Hants West MLA Melissa Sheehy-Richard’s constituency office, Jake Smith Music, Nova Scotia Works, Kettle Bites, The Locker Room, The Big Fur, and Avon Valley Lanes. Donations will be accepted throughout the month of June and will be distributed to individuals in need through the support of Community Inc., Nova Scotia Works, and The Posse Project. Donations in high demand include men’s clothing (all sizes); sunscreen; bug spray and tick spray; sunglasses; reusable water bottles; baby wipes; first aid kits; socks; duct tape; ice packs; sewing repair kits; rain ponchos; Q-tips; notebooks and pens. Donations boxes will be labelled Windsor Has Heart.
