Over a 17-day period, the Atlas Intersections Festival will feature dozens of shows and performances that celebrate the arts!

For the ninth year, the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Northeast D.C. will once again play host to the Intersections arts festival, February 22 until March 11. With programming that covers the whole spectrum of creative output in virtually every medium, the festival’s performances, special events, and workshops will seek to engage audiences as well as artists in everything from the visual arts and photography to performances of all types, including music, theatre, writing, spoken word, circus performing, and more.
Whether you want to hear a jazz performance by local trumpeter Jared “MK Zulu” Bailey or an exotic calypso and afrobeat vocal performance by Culture Queen, Intersections' eclectic and FREE Café Concerts during the first two weekends of the festival are can't-miss events. [gallery type="rectangular" ids="7148,7149"] In addition to 100 individual shows scheduled over the 17-day period, the festival will include free workshops, as well as a youth summit on March 10, which will showcase youth music ensembles, dance companies, and theatre companies. Area restaurants and Whole Foods are also participating in the festivities by bringing expertly made cuisine to the Atlas Café, with one area restaurant being featured daily on the first and second Saturday and Sunday of the festival. Tickets range from $12 to $30 for some performances, while some events simply require an RSVP to guarantee a spot.  For event schedules, artist info, and tickets, visit Atlas’ festival page!
