Discover the magic of Colorado at these four spots ripped from a fairy tale.

We already knew this, but just in case you needed a reminder, Colorado is a truly magical place. Not only is it full of beautiful and scenic places like the Paint Mines Interpretative Park, but it's also home to several castles and so much more. There's no denying that the following four spots in Colorado are truly magical.

Glen Eyrie Castle

It may not have a princess, but it definitely has a ton of magic. With 97 lodging rooms, this English Tudor-style castle was constructed in the late 1800s by Civil War hero and founder of Colorado Springs, General William Jackson Palmer. "Glen Eyrie's stunning beauty and rich spiritual heritage create a place where, for a few sacred moments, guests can set aside their troubles and catch their breath," states the castle's website.

Crystal Mill

Fairy tales aren’t always glitter and gold. Sometimes they're dark and gruesome—I mean, have you read the original Grimms' Fairy Tales? They're ... disturbing; a far cry from the Disney-fied versions we all know and love. Speaking of fairy tales, the Crystal Mill is an old 1892 wooden powerhouse and looks like seven dwarves and a misunderstood witch live inside (if you catch my drift). Located on an outcrop, Crystal Mill is accessible from Marble, Colorado, by 4×4. The mill is surrounded by beautiful aspens and stunning mountains, giving it an alluring appeal, but who knows what dark and twisted things lurk beneath the surface ...

Dillion Ice Castles

For the last few years, the Ice Castles in Dillion have been a must-visi during the wintertime. You'll feel as if you stepped into the world of Frozen! Professional ice artisans grow and harvest up to 10,000 icicles each day to create the life-size fairytale playgrounds. Guests can expect ice-carved tunnels, fountains, slides, frozen thrones, and towers that reach up to 40 feet high! It's a magical experience that the entire family can enjoy and will have you belting "Let It Go" at the top of your lungs.

Elf Lane (aka Gnome Road)

Elf Lane is a quarter-mile dirt trail that's home to a horde of gnomes, elves, and other mythical creatures. Now, of course, the magical creatures are very shy due to years of being captured for their magic and powers, so it may take a bit of searching to find them and their adorably decorated homes. You can search for yourself and have a magical and memorable experience by visiting Elf Lane, located between Lake Hiawatha and Lake Apache.
