The farms are ready and waiting to welcome visitors this summer.
Lavender season is almost here! Each year the fields start to bloom in June and reach peak bloom in the middle of July. Now that the pandemic is waning, farms will be allowing people back in to wander the fields to pick their own blooms. Many of the area farms also have lavender festivals and classes on growing and crafting with lavender. Picking lavender is always a popular activity, so get your tickets before they're sold out!
Star Bright Farm
Star Bright Farm is part lavender farm, part learning annex. In addition to a market that sells dried lavender and a large array of lavender bath and body products, Bright Star also holds concerts, yoga, and garden workshops. Upcoming events include “Twilight in the Garden," an open house during golden hour, and “Bluegrass Sunset," an early evening concert. The farm market is open to the public on weekends.
Smokey Cat Lavender Farm
Federalsburg, Caroline County
On your way to the beach? This eastern shore farm is the perfect place to stop and pick up some fresh-picked lavender. The farm opens in June and is holding a Lavender Festival on Saturday, June 12, 2021. The festival will have food, artisan vendors, music, and alpacas! Admission is $12 per person, free for kids under 10, and includes a free bunch of lavender. Tickets are available now through Eventbrite.

Purple Rain Lavender Farm
Churchville, Harford County
Want to learn how to grow your own lavender? Sign up for a lavender planting clinic at Purple Rain Lavender Farm. In addition to lavender planting clinics, the farm has wreath classes, yoga, and pick-your-own opportunities during the season. Soleado Lavender Farm
Dickerson, Montgomery County
Soleado is a lavender farm conveniently located in Montgomery County. The farm grows an astounding seven varieties of lavender and crafts it into artisan bath and body products, essential oils, and lavender wildflower honey. You can also buy a lavender plant to take home and add to your own garden. Pick-your-own events will be held during the season and Soleado is having a lavender festival on June 26, 2021. Serene Lavender Farm
Sykesville, Carroll County
Serene Lavender Farm is a family-owned farm that grows several varieties of lavender with environment-friendly practices that includes no pesticides. The farm also produces an array of lavender products including fruit preserves, simple syrup, and herbal teas. Open house events that allow you to pick your own lavender are being held throughout June. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $13.99 per person, kids age 9 and under are free. Lavender bunches are extra and tickets are available now for purchase at Eventbrite.
