Don’t have New Years Eve plans yet?  The City of Annapolis has organized two free events, one during the day and one in the late evening.

On December 31, the city of Annapolis kicks off New Years festivities at the Weems-Whelan Memorial Field at 3 p.m. with live entertainment and family friendly activities.  The event will feature food trucks, fireworks and an early evening fireworks celebration at 5:30 p.m.  After the evening fireworks display, many attendees traditionally head to the Annapolis Arts District for dinner before round two of the city’s New Years celebration. The second phase of the night starts at 8 p.m. in downtown Annapolis at the City Dock. At the City Dock there will be more free live entertainment and dancing in a tent at Susan Campbell Park followed by fireworks at midnight on the Annapolis City Dock and Harbor. Adults and kids alike will want to checkout the food trucks on site. Local spot Crabtowncurbs Cuisine will be serving their unique Crab cake dips and sliders, fried and cold shrimp, Cod-fish and beef selections while other trucks at the event are certain to provide a nice variety of savory selections.

If you aren't too tired after the daytime celebration or would rather go out at night, you can dance the night away from 8 p.m. until midnight as the Scott Hymes Radio City Band performs party songs, classic ballads, and perhaps even a little Jazz, as the band is sometimes known to include in their set lists. The late night’s fireworks celebration won’t disappoint either, as the Annapolis City Dock and Harbor provide the perfect bayside setting to take in an elaborate light display. The City of Annapolis caters well to New Year’s partygoers as a shuttle is provided from the Park Place garage to and from the event.  There is no cost to attend both the daytime and late-night celebrations, and while the late-night celebration caters more to adults, the nighttime event is kid friendly as well.  For parking info and more, visit Annapolis’ event page.
