It's 110 feet of LED lights to illuminate the holidays.
The 16th St. Mall will welcome the second annual Mile High Tree Installation, and it might be just what we need to brighten the holiday season.
"Create a new family tradition and join in the free nightly festivities at Denver’s latest holiday attraction, which returns after making its debut last year. The Mile High Tree puts on a dazzling music and light show," said Visit Denver in an announcement.
The 110-foot-tall, seven-story installation measures 39 feet in diameter and features around 60,000 LED lights that will surely be seen from across the metro area. Last year, the tree was located in Sculpture Park, but this year it will make its debut in the heart of downtown, near 16th and Welton, starting Nov. 20 and running through Jan. 2, 2021.
The tree will offer light shows synced to music, which will surely boost your holiday spirit.
"The tree will be lit throughout the season for the public’s enjoyment and will be open for program viewings from 5-10 p.m. most Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and some Sundays. See the complete list of dates," said VIsit Denver. "During open times, visitors to the tree will enjoy a selection of festive and diverse holiday songs timed to the tree's exciting light displays. The program lasts approximately five minutes and will run approximately every 15 minutes. When the tree is not open to the public, visitors can still enjoy the tree's programmed lights without music safely from the perimeter of the tree lot on either Welton Street or on the 16th Street Mall."
The Grand opening lighting ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 20. To observe COVID-19 requirements, face masks are required for all visitors and staff, and entry into the perimeter to the tree will be limited in capacity to ensure social distancing.
