All Aboard for Mountains, Magic, and Merry Times.
Just up I-70 is one of Colorado's wonderful trips into our railroad and mining history. The Georgetown Loop Railroad has been taking guests into the Colorado mountains and offering mine tours for years, giving anyone who rides a chance to see how the state got its start.
This year-round train offers some of the most Colorado scenery you will see any time of the year. From summer excursions in the beautiful greenery to color trains that take a trip in to fall foliage, there's always a view not to be missed.
But, the train is especially festive during the holiday season, when it inspires wonder in all ages thanks to two special adventures (and a bonus after-holiday celebration).
Santa's Lighted Forest
It’s an evening light show and Santa train all in one! Embark on a trip to a light show set to holiday music, all in decorated, comfortable coaches. The holly, jolly one himself (and his friends) will be on hand to make a trip through the cars to meet and greet passengers on the magical ride.
"Meet with Santa and his helpers while winding through the beautiful snow-covered Colorado Rocky Mountains in our enclosed heated coaches. It is truly a unique wintertime experience!"
This ride will last approximately an hour, round-trip. Guests can choose the coach section, parlor car, or Presidential car to customize their trip for the ultimate trip.
Dates: Nov. 16–Dec. 24 (The forest lights ride will also run Dec. 26-Jan. 5 as part of the Victorian Holiday Celebration. See details below).
