Roanoke's first wheelchair-accessible haunted house is actually the only one of its kind in the region. "Terror Manor" is an equal opportunity fright fest!

Based in an enormous commercial space, Terror Manor is a creepy attraction spread out over one single story. The owner made sure that wheelchair ramps and accessible restrooms were included in the building's design, so the entire structure is certified compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Once inside, it provides the classic haunted house experience, including costumed actors, realistic props, and horror movie scenes unfolding before your eyes.

Parents, keep in mind that this is a "rated R" production, and children under 13 are highly discouraged. You'll catch glimpses of horrific scenes, actors inflicting simulated violence, and plenty of fake blood. Scaredy cats can ask for a special glow-in-the-dark necklace to let the actors know that they should leave you alone ... so don't worry if you're on the fence about going!

Terror Manor, actors

Tickets grant general admission, but you can buy upgrades to jump the line or even get a more hands-on experience. The latter requires a signed waiver, so I shiver at the thought of what it may entail. The ultimate experience is a $100 season pass so you can go back again and again, scaring yourself silly each time.

For more information, visit the Terror Manor website or get in on the group chat on their Facebook page.
