Live out all of your frozen dreams this weekend at CityCenterDC.
CityCenterDC, the luxury shopping and dining center, will be transforming its park into a massive, gleaming ice maze. The giant maze is part of CityCenterDC’s holiday programming that includes a 75-foot Christmas tree, giant reindeer, and the “Find Your Joy” contest. The ice maze will be the largest in the U.S. and will be open to the public for three days.
The clear ice maze will have seven-foot-tall walls and will be composed of 110,000 pounds of ice. Its unique design allows you to see your way through, unlike a traditional outdoor maze. Because of the limited life span of the ice, the maze will only be around from December 13 to December 15, 2019. The maze will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 13, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with a two-hour ice prep from 2 to 4 p.m. each day.

This is the second year CityCenterDC incorporated ice into its holiday display. Last year the display featured 12-foot high ice replicas of Washington, D.C., monuments. The entirety of CityCenterDC is decked out in holiday decor with a 75-foot tree and 25-foot tall reindeer made from manzanita branches. Another highlight is the “Dream Closet," a passageway filled with hanging ornaments designed by Swatchroom artist Maggie O’Neil.
Admission to the Ice Maze at CityCenterDC is free, but visitors are encouraged to make a donation to Children’s National Hospital. Visitors can also enter to win a $500 gift card during the Find Your Joy Contest. Just visit the center now through January 3 and post your photos to social media with the hashtag #FindYourJoyDC.
