Enjoy a true Colorado wildlife experience from the terrace of a true Colorado castle.

If you already thought elk were magnificent, wait until you hear them during the fall. The males of this generally silent species let loose magnificent mating calls during rutting, and you are invited to hear the acoustics in all their glory!

The Elk Bugling Sightings and Sounds! events at the Cherokee Ranch in Sedalia have been delighting participants for years.

“A fall Tradition for many guests, our elk will be speaking the language of love and you are invited! Learn about the mating rituals of the magnificent Elk while listening to their beautiful rutting calls,” says Cherokee Ranch.

If elk watching wasn’t enough, the home base for the evening is in the historical gem that is the Cherokee Ranch Castle, which is modeled after the architecture of 1450s Scotland. This unique manor blends the spirit of the West with old-world architecture, and it houses an impressive collection of fine art, memorabilia, and furniture from near and far. All of which you can see for yourself on a castle tour before you take in the local wildlife.
