A new holiday pop-up will feature light displays, ice skating, and a Christmas market on the field and concourse of Nationals Park.

It may be June, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas. "Enchant Christmas," a pop-up holiday light experience, has announced plans to come to D.C. this winter. The field and concourse of Nationals Park will be filled with holiday light displays, an ice skating trail, a Christmas market, and live entertainment. Enchant Christmas has held similar events in Houston, Vancouver, and Dallas. The event will run from November 22 to December 29, 2019.

The theme for this year’s pop-up is “The Great Search.” Visitors will follow in the search for Santa’s missing reindeer ahead of Christmas Eve. Guests can roam the 90,000-square-foot light maze, zoom down the ice skating trail, and explore the outfield which will feature intricate holiday light displays, giant ornaments, and falling snow. The new addition of Enchant Christmas will invigorate the Navy Yard area for the holiday season.

“Enchant is a completely unique experience, which will bring the spirit of the holidays to Nationals Park,” said Alan H. Gottlieb, Chief Operating Officer Lerner Sports Group. “The Nationals are thrilled to have found a partner who can activate the ballpark and the surrounding neighborhood during the winter months.”

Visitors can also enjoy the sights and sounds of holiday carolers and pay an obligatory visit to Santa and Mrs. Claus with the little ones. The interior concourse will be converted into a bustling holiday market complete with local gift vendors and holiday-themed food and drink. Adults can sneak a cocktail on the outfield in the holiday bar.
