He is the host of a popular trivia show, is turning 80 this summer, and has an autobiography coming out to celebrate it. If you answered, “Who is Alex Trebek?” you’re correct!

Alex Trebek has evidently been keeping himself busy lately. The long-time host of Jeopardy!, a game show that prizes quick button-pushing reflexes and extensive knowledge of, well, just about everything, has been writing an autobiography

Simon & Schuster, the publishers of the new memoir, announced recently that the book will be out July 21, which just so happens to be the day before Trebek’s 80th birthday. The memoir will be called The Answer Is...: Reflections on My Life. The announcement came through on the Jeopardy! Twitter feed as well:

It sounds like Trebek's autobiography is going to be an interesting mix of information, anecdotes, and musings, formatted to mimic the style of his signature show. Each chapter of the book will be titled in the form of a question, because as all Jeopardy! viewers know, if you don't answer in the form of a question, it doesn't count.

On the Simon & Schuster website, the book is described as:

"The book combines illuminating personal anecdotes with Trebek’s thoughts on a range of topics, including marriage, parenthood, education, success, spirituality, and philanthropy. Trebek also addresses the questions he gets asked most often by Jeopardy! fans, such as what prompted him to shave his signature mustache, his insights on legendary players like Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer, and his opinion of Will Ferrell’s Saturday Night Live impersonation."

The memoir will be released in hardcover for around $25 and as an unabridged audio version either on CD or to download for around $20.

Trebek has long resisted writing a memoir of his life, but many things have changed in the past year or so. He has recently crossed the one year mark for surviving stage-4 pancreatic cancer, beating the odds of an 18 percent survival rate. In the past year, he has been so moved by all of the goodwill that has come his way that he decided to finally tell his story. Longtime viewers and fans are sure to love the in-depth look at their favorite host when the book comes out this summer!
