Does it matter if you're Team Edward or Team Jacob when more Twilight books are being promised?

During a recent interview, Stephenie Meyer revealed that she is planning on releasing two more books to the Twilight Saga, the incredibly popular romance series revolving around vampires, werewolves, and Bella Swan. She admitted this during a promotional event.

“There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write,” she stated. “I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it’s there. I am not ready to do that right now. I want to do something brand new.”

Recently, Meyer's novel Midnight Sun sold over one million copies in its first week of release, according to Little Brown Books for Young Readers. Debuting August 4, the book details events of the series relayed from the vampire Edward Cullen's perspective. Its initial draft was leaked years ago online, but now the final product is on bookshelves.

After the series' first book, Twilight, shattered sales and developed a cult following, Meyer continued with popular hits New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Despite literary critics panning the series for its characterization, pacing, and plot (or lack of), the series has been one of the most well-known in recent history. Movie adaptations were made, with all of them performing extremely well at the box office in spite of terrible reviews. Narrated from human Bella Swan's point of view, the series dealt with her romantic relationships with both Edward and Jacob, as well as the Cullen family and evading enemy vampires.

Although Meyer had originally said she would never write another Twilight Saga book again, she's seemed to change her mind, admitting that she is not yet done writing about Edward and Bella.

Only time will tell.
