From smoking to vaping to edibles and more, cannabis users can enjoy their favorite strain in any form they like. Edibles are one popular method for enjoying weed, and there are so many different brands and forms, whether you're searching for a gummy, or something else. If you like having fun in the kitchen, you can even make your own edibles. Here are some recipes that you can use to make your own cannabis-infused snacks.

Alcohol extractions are one method that can be used to incorporate cannabis into recipes. Below is a recipe for cannabis tincture, found in the book: A Woman's Guide to Cannabis, by Nikki Furrer.

Cannabis Tincture Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Everclear/Vodka
  • 3.5-7 grams of decarboxylated cannabis flower

Instructions:

  1. Boil 2 to 3 cups of water in a medium pot or saucepan.
  2. Whisk together the cannabis flower and alcohol in a small jar. Place the jar in the boiling water.
  3. Simmer the mixture for 30-45 minutes.
  4. Once it has cooled, strain it through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Squeeze out as much tincture as you can, and strain again.
  5. Store in a 1-ounce bottle with a dropper top for up to 6 months in a cool, dry place.

Weed-Infused Lemonade Recipe:

You may have had a lemonade cocktail, but have you ever had weed-infused lemonade? As mentioned, the world of edibles has become quite expansive. Some brands, such as Flower Powder, make dissolvable THC-infused powders, which are easy to mix into various things.

While you can simply mix this stuff into a glass of water, lemonade can be a super fun and refreshing way to use it. Take your favorite lemonade recipe, mix in an edible powder packet, and there you have it! A nostalgic drink with an adult twist that isn't alcohol.

Book Club Wine Gummies Recipe:

This recipe requires a little more work than the lemonade. Remember the tincture we talked about? It comes into play in this recipe, also pulled from A Woman's Guide to Cannabis. While, as the book states, it may not be a great idea to mix alcohol and marijuana, the wine here is such a small amount and serves as added flavor more than anything. This is a fun DIY take on one of the most common forms of edibles: the gummy.

Ingredients:

  • Cannabis Tincture
  • 4 packets of unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup red, white, or rose wine (divide into 2 half cups)
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions:

  1. Line an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the gelatin packets with one-half cup of wine in a bowl and stir. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes so that the gelatin absorbs the liquid.
  3. Combine the sugar with the second half cup of wine in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Let it simmer for 5 minutes until it becomes a thicker syrup consistency.
  4. Combine the two mixtures and stir until melted together into a liquid. Add the tincture. and stir well.
  5. Take the mixture off of the heat and pour it into your baking dish. Refrigerate for 20 minutes until the gummies have set.
  6. Cut your slab into pieces evenly with a ruler and a pizza cuter. Set on a wire rack for a few hours. Store your gummies in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

Shiitake Wedge Salad With Cannabis-Blue Cheese Dressing Recipe:

This wedge salad recipe uses Cannabis Coconut Oil in the dressing, so the blue cheese is packing even more of a punch than usual. I've really started to like blue cheese in recent years. When asked if I'd like ranch or blue cheese, I go for both. That's one reason why this recipe caught my eye. I've also never heard of anyone infusing their salad with cannabis. We love health! But honestly, if you just wanted to use the blue cheese for chicken wings, I wouldn't blame you.

Ingredients:

  • Neutral oil
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 large shiitakes
  • 6oz (about 22) cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 large shallot, finely diced
  • 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 6oz blue cheese
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cannabis oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon plain whole-milk yogurt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 1/2 large heads of iceberg lettuce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped chive

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Thinly oil a rimmed sheet pan.
  2. Clean the mushrooms and cut off the stems. Slice up the heads into strips. Place on the sheet pan and drizzle with the soy sauce, maple syrup, and Worcestershire. Toss to mix everything together. Spread out the mushrooms on the pan evenly. Bake for around 20 minutes until mushrooms are brown and crispy.
  3. In a medium bowl, toss tomatoes, shallot, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Smash the blue cheese in a bowl with a fork. Add yogurt, buttermilk, cannabis oil, hot sauce, water, and lemon juice. Stir until mostly smooth. Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water, and add more as needed to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Cut one iceberg head to yield 8 small wedges. Cut the other 1/2 head into four small pieces. Sprinkle lettuce with salt.
  6. Assemble the salad! Pour the shallot vinaigrette (minus the tomatoes) over the lettuce and dump on that gorgeous blue cheese dressing. Then, top each wedge with tomatoes, mushrooms, and chives.
