Of the hundreds upon hundreds of dime a dozen restaurants in Maryland and the DC Metro area, Big Fish Grille is one of the more unique and diverse. The Big Fish Grille in Crofton, Maryland is a casual dining restaurant that, as you can guess by the name, specializes in Seafood and Seafood dishes. Big Fish Grille is a great place to ease your seafood cravings, but also serves up other delicious non-Seafood items that would satisfy every member of a party. Of the appetizer items, guests can choose from fried Crab balls, steamed shrimp Baltimore style, rockfish and shrimp tacos, crab dip, crab stuffed mushrooms, Bangkok shrimp, twin lobster tails and more! If Seafood isn't very appealing, items such as the chicken quesadilla or fried pickles are a succulent alternative. I personally love the steamed shrimp and fried crab balls. The crap dip might be too heavy and creamy for some, but of all the items I tried and sampled nothing tasted bad. Big Fish Grille also serves up Sushi Rolls, from Philadelphia Rolls to Spicy Shrimp, Lobster and Vegetable Rolls. The Creamy Crab soup in particular is beyond delicious, and I felt as I could’ve sat there and ordered cup after cup for hours on end. The salad selection is adequate and enough to satisfy dieters and vegetarians. Big Fish Grille's steak, chicken, grilled salmon and Sesame Tuna salads are large enough and ideal if you need something a little lighter. True to its name, Big Fish Grille specializes in different types of Fish dishes prepared expertly by Chefs who clearly know what real cuisine is. The menu also includes flatbreads/pizzas, which I could smell a few tables down but didn’t have the chance to try; the burgers are rather large and juicy, while the sliders and sandwiches offer more beef, chicken and seafood options large enough for dinner and perfect as a lunch selection. The Chef selections are what have made this local establishment a favorite of many. [gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="1149,1151"] I opted for the Lamb Chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus and enjoyed every bit of the rosemary, olive oil and garlic marinated tender goodness. Members of my party tried the New York Strip, generous Crab Cake and Sweet Cajun Grouper, no doggie bags were necessary.
Perhaps the only negative is the fact that the menu has so many great choices that picking what you want becomes difficult.
