Timonium is set to host the annual Maryland Irish Festival; the three-day event will feature virtually nonstop performances and activities.
The Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium is once again hosting the annual Maryland Irish Festival. Now in its 44th year, the festival brings the best of Ireland to Maryland over the course of three days. Live music, cultural entertainment, contests, vendors, food and beverages and more. Event organizers have made it so that there is little chance for a dull moment after you've entered the gates and grabbed a pint of Guinness.- [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Photo courtesy of Maryland Irish Festival[/caption]
The musical entertainment lined up for the three days will feature several highly acclaimed modern Irish bands. The Kilmaine Saints are the headliner and their brand of Celtic Rock, high energy live sets and five critically acclaimed albums put out since 2009 have made them the favorite of music fans throughout the entire eastern United States.

Other high energy Celtic Rock bands in the lineup include Barley Juice, Dublin 5, Blackwater and the Shamrogues, all of whom have earned a loyal fan base as regulars on the Celtic Music Festival circuit. The Fitzgeralds will help make the lineup a little more diverse with their fiddling and step dancing, while Seamus Kennedy will add a mix of traditional and contemporary Irish and Scottish.
Fans at the festival will also love the non-musical performances. Magician Debbie O’ Carroll has been confirmed to perform her Irish Magic Show. There will also be Irish Linen and Wool Worker demonstrations by Tim and Kathleen Nealeigh, which will reveal what the daily life of the Irish used to be like back in the 1700’s. Several presentations have been scheduled.
