Get ready to snuggle: Georgetown's Kitten Lounge will only be open from March through June.
The owner of D.C.'s Crumbs and Whiskers Cat Cafe is extending the feline love to the babies this spring with a pop-up Kitten Lounge!
Since the year-round Cat Cafe generally only has full-grown adult cats available for cuddling (because kittens have a weaker immune system), the Kitten Lounge will be open during "Kitten Season" -- the spring months of March through June when mama cats tend to have more kittens.
Those kittens need to be adopted. Also, (and fortunately for us!) those kittens need to be loved on while they wait for their fur-ever families.
WHEN: March 1–June 30 (every day except Tuesdays) | 11 a.m.–7 p.m.
WHERE: 3109 M Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20007
COST: 15-minute walk-in sessions for $15 | 30-minute sessions for $20 | 70-minute sessions for $35 | Make reservations here
Kittens are only popular for the first six months of life, so getting them adopted quickly is a top priority.
"The Kitten Lounge houses rescue kittens while they wait for their forever homes," the Kitten Lounge's website states. "By freeing up space in shelters, we allow them to save even more homeless kittens during this crazy time of year. All our kittens are up for adoption, and our goal is to save 500 kittens during the course of our pop-up."
Crumbs and Whiskers has reportedly "already facilitated 900 cat adoptions, with nearly 1,900 cats saved from euthanasia, and more than $25,000 donated to charity."
What to Expect
Lots of fluffy and furry little kittens up for adoption! This pop-up lounge is a safe place for customers to come and snuggle with kittens, exclusively. Play with them, cuddle with them, and fall in love with them.
Children must be over seven years old, and all children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. If you come with a group of eight or more, you must book a private event.

Crumbs and Whiskers teamed up with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue to bring in the kittens for adoption. The company has previously held "Kitten Parties" that sold out immediately, so this pop-up location should thrive with business. Make sure you make your reservations soon!
Side Note: Adult cats have a much harder time trying to get adopted because they are no longer in the 'cute' stage. I beg to differ, cats are "cute" for the rest of their lives, so head on into Crumbs and Whiskers' Cat Cafe to check out the adults, too!
