If you appreciate history and art, you simply must visit the Hillwood Museum. See the estate and gardens of the late Ms. Marjorie Mayweather Post and her extensive collection of sacred Russian and French art.

Boasting the largest amount of imperial Russian art outside of Russia, the Hillwood Museum was the final home and estate of Ms. Marjorie Post, which she adorned with her extensive art collection and exquisite decorative tastes after moving in in 1955. The home is worth the visit all on its own, featuring stunning architectural details, with sprawling gardens, outhouses, and grand rooms connected by grand staircases. During the month of December, the museum also hosts Post’s stunning holiday displays. Must-see rooms include the Russian Porcelain Room and the Icon Room, where you can see one of the famous Faberge eggs. Tickets are a suggested donation of $18 and can be purchased in the front office. The staff recommends that you visit during the weekdays (if you can) as it’s much less-crowded, and you can pay $3 less than the suggested donation.
