This golf course has consistently appeared in Golf Digest
's rankings since 1966. Opening in 1923, the private Congressional Country Club was originally created to specialize in serving members of Congress. It features two challenging 18-hole courses and has been host to numerous championship tournaments throughout the years, including the U.S. Open in both 1997 and 2011. Its gorgeous rolling terrain and wide variety of animals (including beavers, deer, foxes, rabbits, turtles, geese, and birds) are sure to delight any golf enthusiast and provide a tranquil setting for a lovely round of the sport.
