Do you have a dog? Chances are he or she could probably use a bath. Lucky for you, the NoVa SPCA's Annual Dog Wash fundraiser is this Saturday, September 16!

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Weber's Pet Supermarket (11021 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030), the Northern Virginia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will bathe and manicure your dog for a small fee. And the best part is that because the Annual Dog Wash event is volunteer-run, 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards helping the NoVa SPCA care for and place the animals it takes in! This is a wonderful opportunity to save money on dog grooming and simultaneously donate to a wonderful cause. The Annual Dog Wash will not only offer bathing services, but also doggy manicures and even ear cleaning. If you have a breed that tends to get gunk in their ears, like spaniels, this is a chance to get their ears looked at and cleaned. Once your pooch is all spick-and-span, you can let him or her pal around with some of the other dogs in attendance. Who knows? They might make some new friends! The Annual Dog Wash is one of the biggest NoVa SPCA fundraisers of the season. For a lot of people, adopting another dog or cat really isn't feasible. Others might not have the money to make a donation. But if you have a dirty dog, you can get them cleaned and help save rescued pets all at the same time! If you don't have a dog in need of a bath but still want to help, the Northern Virginia SPCA is looking for volunteers for this event. If you love animals and don't mind having a few dozen freshly bathed dogs shake all over you, please email volunteers@spcanova.org to sign up for a volunteer slot.
