Washington lost an icon that was both older than the country and nation's capitol when a 325-year-old tree in Shepherd Park neighborhood of Northwest DC was uprooted. The 75-foot-tall oak tree has been around since as long as anyone can remember. In fact, it is estimated to be older than the United States itself.
