Whole Foods is assisting families affected by the shutdown by hosting a free spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, January 15.

Over the holidays, you probably sat down for a nice meal with the family at least once to celebrate the winter season. Well, it looks like the holidays are not yet over, and the season of giving has just begun. On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, Whole Foods Market is inviting you into their family and offering a free spaghetti dinner for anyone affected by the partial government shutdown.

As the partial shutdown reaches its fourth week, hundreds of thousands of Americans and their families are living without a paycheck or food on the table. The prolonged shutdown is also expected to impact the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNPA) or food stamps if it persists into February. This will ultimately leave even more families without food during the cold winter months.

Therefore, Whole Foods Market is giving back to the community and providing a little bit of help during these tough times. If you are a government employee or federal contractor affected by the shutdown, you and your family can visit a participating Whole Foods store on January 15 for a complimentary community spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The dinner will include pasta, meatballs, salad, rolls, and bottled water as the entire community comes together for a warm and friendly meal.
