Planning to go out on Halloween weekend? D.C. residents can get a free Lyft ride home this Halloween by using SoberRide’s special Halloween promo code.
SoberRide, a free ride program established by the Washington Regional Alcohol Program, or WRAP, this year is offering free Lyft rides Halloween weekend to D.C. residents between 10 p.m., October 28, until 4 a.m., October 29. D.C. residents can take advantage of the offer by downloading the Lyft App on their smartphones and entering the program’s “DCHalloween” promo code into the Promo section on the App.
SoberRide’s services are only available to Lyft customers 21 and over. Both new and existing users may use the promo code during the specified hours; the promo is valid for up to a $15 value. If you have never used Lyft, a $15 fare generally covers about 10 miles or less. If you will be partying outside of the city and are unsure of Lyft’s D.C. coverage area and the distance of your trip, Lyft’s website
has a map of the D.C. coverage area as well as a fare calculator. As Lyft’s D.C. coverage area extends to each of the surrounding counties in Maryland and Virginia, the service will only be offered to the first 1,500 customers. Callers who wish to take advantage of the offer should make sure to request rides earlier rather than later.
Prior to SoberRide’s partnership with Lyft, the program provided residents with free rides via a 1-800 number. SoberRide
operates during select “high risk” holidays including Christmas/New Year, St. Paddy’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, the Fourth of July, and Halloween.
