After more than a decade of planning and building, the Wharf is set to open next month.
The neighborhood’s developer, Hoffman-Madison Waterfront (HMW), has scheduled a full weekend of events to celebrate The Wharf’s Kickoff Celebration, starting Thursday, October 12. At the venue performing a free concert will be none other than Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael (aka The Bacon Brothers) at 5 p.m. on October 12 on the Wharf development’s District Pier. The $2.5 billion world-class waterfront neighborhood will welcome more than 50 bands and performers to help the city celebrate the milestone over the next several months, through spring 2018. While the brand new Southwest D.C. neighborhood promises dozens of restaurants and shops, it’s been unclear until now how many of them will be up and running in time for the October 12 grand opening. However, the following is a list of new businesses expected to be open within the month:Restaurants
