Ripley’s Baltimore Harbor is a museum that won’t disappoint! Kids are sure to love it, and adults can enjoy it too. This one of a kind Museum is conveniently located in the Light Street Pavilion of Baltimore Harbor. If you are planning a day visit, several restaurants and clothes stores are in the same location – including The Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gump Shrimp and Urban Outfitters, ESPN Sports Zone is also a short walk from the Baltimore Harbor waterfront location, as well as Camden Yards Baseball Park. The fun begins as soon as you step in the door, in the main entrance is a wooden car, a 12-foot Transformer and artwork made with shotgun shells. If you're planning a visit, you will want to bring your camera as there are plenty of good photo opportunities. As you head into the museum from the front lobby, piano stairs quickly set the tone of the exciting wackiness ahead. Each step creates a note like a humongous floor keyboard. Ripley’s Baltimore Harbor is a museum that is best enjoyed by taking it all in, which is easy to do since the fascinating facts and amazing exhibits are plentiful. Some of the exhibits are interactive and activated by buttons. The museum’s exhibits are very entertaining while also providing lots of new information and factoids that you may believe, or not. To some, Ripley’s Baltimore Harbor may feel more like an art museum than anything else, and the pieces on display are stunning and will have you saying “no freaking way.” The fun stuff at Ripley’s Baltimore Harbor caters to all ages, there is something for every visitor. The interactive exhibits help to keep younger aged children entertained throughout the museum while also providing an entertaining experience for adults. From a Harry Potter Castle constructed of matchsticks to Shrunken Heads to dinosaurs made from Pop Tarts foil, many of the exhibits leave visitors scratching their heads in disbelief. Visitors may miss a few things as there is so much to see, so if you're planning a visit, make sure you have enough time to enjoy everything. Although, if you miss a few things, more than likely you still will have seen plenty.
Ripley’s Baltimore Harbor also has a Mirror Maze and 4D Theater in which two movies are shown. The museum can sometimes be very crowded, sometimes you may have to wait to view and test out interactive items, however it is worth the wait. Timewise, you can take it all in in about an hour to hour and a half. Expect a lot of walking and dress in comfortable clothes. If you decide to skip the 4D theatre and Mirromaze, the Odditorium is alone worth the visit.
Tickets to the Odditorium are $19.99, the mirror maze is $12.99 for adults and $8.99 for kids and the 4D museum is also $12.99 per adult and $8.99 for kids. Combo tickets are also available, visitors can choose to see any combo of two or all three parts of the Museum at a slightly cheaper rate.
