With September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Kneaders Bakery and Cafe will be selling elephant-shaped cookies to help raise money for cancer research.
Throughout the entire month of September, Kneaders Bakery and Cafe locations across Colorado will be selling elephant-shaped cookies in order to raise money in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The money will fund The Schiffman Lab to help fight and end cancer. Dr. Josh Schiffman of the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Utah has been researching elephant DNA, trying to gain an understanding of why elephants don't get cancer. Researchers at the lab are hoping that certain proteins found in the large animals can be used to fight cancer cells in human beings. But in order to do so, they need the proper funding to get the research off the ground. That's where you come in.
