DETAILS: The D.C. State Fair will be the perfect opportunity to come out and support your city. In its 9th year, the fair is a

“free showcase of the District’s agricultural and creative talents and a daylong celebration of all things homegrown.”

And there will be plenty of activities to participate in, whether you’re an adult, kid, or even a dog. Especially if you’re a dog, because this state fair will feature a much-anticipated pet parade. According to the fair website,

“Friendly pets on leashes, in cages, in tanks or in aquariums are invited to march in our annual D.C. State Fair Pet Parade!”

Costumes are also highly encouraged, so if you’re one of those people who is crazy-obsessed with their pets, this is your time to shine.

You’ll also be able to eat and drink from local food trucks, listen to live entertainment, and purchase from local artisan vendors.
