The sixth annual Whiskey Throwdown and Doughnut Showdown is taking place on May 19!

Some things are just made to be together. Peanut butter and jelly. Joanie and Chachi. Whiskey and Donuts ... Yes, you heard that right: Whiskey and doughnuts, a match made in heaven. The annual Whiskey Throwdown and Doughnut Showdown has been celebrating this masterful culinary combination for the past five years and the event is BACK this month! This year's event will take place on Saturday, May 19, from 2-8:30 p.m., at the Denver Rock Drill (1648-1798 E 40th Ave, Denver, CO 80205). The General Admissions ticket is $39 and gets you admission to the event and tons of yummy samples. If you want to get in an extra 30 minutes early -- and get a commemorative engraved rocks glass for sampling -- then definitely opt for the VIP tickets. Hate whiskey but love donuts? You can also purchase a designated driver ticket. You won't have access to any of the whiskey tastings, but you can sample as many doughnuts as you want until they have to roll you out of there!
The Whiskey Throwdown and Doughnut Showdown is all about celebrating local brands. In addition to sampling some of the area's finest doughnuts, you'll also be able to sample a bunch of locally-distilled spirits and locally-brewed beers. Did I mention that your ticket comes with unlimited sampling? Just please drink responsibly. As mentioned, the event's proceeds will go towards Minds Matter of Denver. This organization has been helping low-income and gifted high school students realize their college dreams since 1991. Minds Matter is committed to giving full scholarships to 100 percent of its students and their mission is made possible by charity events like this. So if you love Colorado whiskeys and doughnuts, but have never tried the two together, definitely don't miss out on this great event!
