Denver loves dogs. That's no secret. Rover.com, a network of pet sitters and dog walkers, has released a list of the dog names that are leading the pack in Denver. Typically, pet owners pick names for their pets based on their own personalities and interests.
Now, some of the names Denver pet owners have for their dogs are not surprising at all, but there will definitely be names that will have you think, "only in Colorado."

Rover.com also found that 2017 has seen an increase of 35 percent in tech-inspired names like Gizmo, Mac, and Cisco. This doesn't come as a surprise as Denver is seen as a central hub for tech -- the Hyperloop being one example. There were also dog names inspired by South Park, which rose 22 percent -- Butters took the number one slot, followed by Bebe, Kenny, Stan, and Macky. And only in Colorado could marijuana-themed names like Mary Jane and Doobie increase by 25 percent. Health-food names saw a whopping 58 percent increase, with Kale increasing by 284 percent. Honestly, with Colorado being so health-conscious, I wouldn't be surprised to see more healthy food-related names to rise in popularity in the future.
