Ten Colorado media personalities are in the running to become the next voice of the train at Denver International Airport, and WE get to decide! Vote for your favorite by midnight on February 25!

If you've ever flown out of DIA, chances are you've ridden the automated train between the main terminal and the concourses, following the friendly instructions of popular public figures like Broncos players, Mayor Michael B. Hancock, and former 9News anchor Adele Arakawa. Occasionally the voices of the train need to be updated, and now is the time! Of the 10 familiar voices in the final pool of candidates, five are female, and five are male. Only two will be chosen!
The bios and auditions of each candidate are linked below (Vic Lombardi's is definitely worth a listen, if you want a good laugh!), but DIA urges everyone to vote for their favorites based on whether or not the person:
  • represents Colorado's spirit.
  • is a familiar voice in the state.
  • has a clear and distinct manner of speaking, as well as friendly delivery.
  • has a voice that is worthy of welcoming all of Colorado's millions of incoming visitors!
So, without further ado, here are the candidates for the DIA train voice: FEMALE VOICES Kim Christiansen (9News) Kathy Walsh (CBS4) Kathy Sabine (9News) Anne Trujillo (Denver7) Denise Plante (Kosi 101.1) MALE VOICES Mike Nelson (Denver7) Gary Shapiro (9News) Vic Lombardi (Altitude Sports Radio) Jeremy Hubbard (KDVR-Fox 31) Alan Roach (Colorado Avalanche) Use the candidates' links above to vote for your favorite by Sunday, February 25, at 11:59 p.m.! For more information, visit the DIA website. What do you think? Who are you voting for? Which candidate most embodies the spirit of Colorado? Please leave a comment below, and let's get the conversation started!
