RVs on the big screen.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again – vehicles can be characters on the big screen. Just try to imagine Bullitt without the Mustang, Dukes of Hazard without the General Lee, or Smokey and the Bandit without the Firechicken. It just can't be done.

It's also not exclusive to cars, RVs – we've found – can be just as iconic. So without further ado, here are five of the most iconic RV's to appear in film or on TV!

The Spaceballs Eagle

Supposedly, it's based on the Winnebago Chieftain 33RU (they used a 1/12th scale model for filming), this might just be the most 'stellar' of the bunch. The movie wouldn't be the same without it.

Lost in America

The premise is, as follows: a couple in their 30s decided to quit their day jobs and live in an RV, roaming the land of the free. Don't tell us you haven't contemplated doing something similar.

Winnebago Man

I think this one is more about the man, but worth a watch anyway. If you have a friend who doesn't know how to swear properly, Winnebago Man is probably the best teacher.

Breaking Bad

Every time I see an RV in the desert of New Mexico, my mind immediately takes me back to Breaking Bad

Christmas Vacation

This list wouldn't be complete without a shout out to Cousin Eddy in what many call their favorite Christmas movie. Let's face it, we'd all love to roll up like that.

What are your thoughts? Did we miss any? If so, let us know in the comments section!

George Erbert
George is a Denver native who has an unapologetic love for cars, strong coffee, road trips, and -- despite his youthful appearance -- bygone eras of country music. In his free time, you'll find him carving mountain back roads in whatever car he's lent for the weekend, reading, writing, or unsuccessfully trying to replicate things shown on any of Anthony Bourdain's TV shows.
