One of the funniest men on the planet is coming to D.C. in October. Chris Rock’s MGM Grand comedy performances may be the area’s biggest show of 2017!

Modern legend and favorite comedian of many Chris Rock is coming to National Harbor for a run of four stand-up comedy shows at the MGM Grand National Harbor. Initially, only three shows were scheduled, but a fourth show has recently been added due to popular demand. Rock will be debuting his comedy stylings at the MGM Grand for the first time on Wednesday October 18 and will perform consecutive nights through October 21.  comedy Rock’s four nights at the MGM Grand are part of his "Total Blackout" tour; tickets went on sale May 12th and, surprisingly, the shows have not yet sold out. The MGM Grand is a 3,000-seat venue and very new. The ticket prices started at $69, however, as tickets become less available interested attendees may end up paying more for the expensive seats. Each of the shows begins at 8 p.m. comedy Rock has had a storied career in entertainment that first began as a stand-up comedian; his success early in his career as a stand-up led to his being a member of the cast of NBC’s "Saturday Night Live". Rock joined "Saturday Night Live" in 1989, and soon after, taped his first comedy special for HBO in 1993. Four years later, his 1997 “Bring the Pain” comedy special released. Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy awards and is ranked fifth in the “100 Greatest Stand-Up’s of All-Time” list produced by Comedy Central. Since 1997, Rock has done three more HBO specials, the hilarious “Bigger and Blacker,” 2004’s “Never Scared,” and the 1998 Emmy award winning special “Kill The Messenger.”
comedy Rock also had his own T.V. show, “Everybody Hates Chris,” which he co-created and narrated, and won a Golden Globe Nomination as well as a Writers Guild Awards nomination for Best Television Series and Best New Series, respectively. Rock also had a T.V. role in his very own and well-regarded “Chris Rock Show” as well as a role on the series “Empire." He has also had many guest roles and appearances on various shows and programs. Currently, Rock has plans to take a break from his tour during the summer to work with fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum Adam Sandler to produce an original Netflix movie called “The Week Of.” Rock’s work in film began with a role in “Beverly Hills Cop 2” starring Eddie Murphy, while his unique and unmistakable voice helped to make the four animated “Madagascar” movies a success, with his role as the character of the witty zebra named Marty. Rock has also starred in roles in movies such as Kevin Smith’s “Dogma,” the fourth installment of the “Lethal Weapon” movies, “Bad Company,” “Down To Earth,” “Grown Ups 2,” “The Longest Yard,” “Dr. Doolittle” and several others. Chris Rock is a star entertainer and performer who has hosted both the Academy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards twice.
