Who couldn't use a good laugh right now?

The venue may be closed for now, but the iconic D.C. comedy club is keeping the city in stitches with podcasts and virtual shows. If you're looking for something different to do for date night, why not create a home version of your favorite comedy club?

Pull up a tiny table, get some tasty snacks, and tune in to one of the $5 stand-up shows put on by the D.C. Improv.

How It Works

Simply go to the Improv's website and click on the show you want. Tickets are just $5 and you'll be emailed a Zoom link to the performance 30 minutes beforehand. That's it! You have until 40 minutes before the show to purchase your tickets, so don't wait until the last minute.

Interactive shows will give you an oppportunity to participate through the Zoom chat function—you may even be picked to show up on the virtual stage!

Looking for even more comedy options? Take a sketch-writing class or participate in an improvisation workshop. You can even listen to hilarious podcasts, performed for free by local artists. The Improv is posting all sorts of programming to keep their fans happy.

Patrons holding tickets for canceled shows can request a refund online or trade them in for a credit with the venue. For more information, visit the venue's official website. You can also follow along on their Twitter page for updates and upcoming offerings. Organizers hope to have in-person shows available in some format by July.
