There are so many great Halloween movies out there nowadays. So many, in fact, that it can be hard to keep them all straight. But that's where our list can come in handy! If you're not sure which Halloween movie to pop on the TV, it's always a safe bet to go with some classics. Whether that's watching all of the Tim Burton movies or straight-up slasher flicks, we all have those movies that bring back good memories. Here are 13 nostalgic Halloween movies that should become a part of your holiday tradition if they haven't already.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

If Hocus Pocus isn't on your watchlist every single Halloween, what are you doing with your life?!

The Sanderson sisters (Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker) are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts, by a teenage boy on Halloween night after three centuries. It's up to him, his younger sister, his high school crush, and an immortal cat to put an end to their reign.

The Halloweentown Series (1998, 2001, 2004, and 2006)

It all began in 1998 when the first Halloweentown was released. Kimberly J. Brown and the late Debbie Reynolds star as Marnie Piper and Aggie Cromwell, Marnie’s witchy grandmother, respectively. After learning that she is also a witch, Marnie helps to save a town full of other supernatural creatures.

Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (2001) takes a darker turn when the Cromwell clan must take on a son of an old rival who wants to make the "real world" a world of monsters. Brown reprises her role as Marnie one last time with Disney Channel Original Movie, Halloweentown High (2004). In the third installment, Marnie adjusts to a new school year in her new home of Halloweentown. She proposes that Halloweentown students attend high school in the mortal world but problems soon arise.

In the fourth and final film, Return To Halloweentown (2006), Marnie (played by Sara Paxton) and her brother Dylan follow their dreams by attending Halloweentown University. Although some may argue that it was not the best conclusion to the series, there will certainly never be another Disney Channel series quite like it!

Twitches (2005)

The Disney Channel Original Movies will always be held near and dear to my heart. Based on the book series, Twitches stars Tia and Tamara Mowry and tells the story of twin witches (get it?) who were separated at birth and adopted by different families. They meet on their 21st birthday and must use their powers to save the world in which they were born. If you’re a fan of sequels, you can watch Twitches Too (2007), where the sisters attempt to live a normal life but soon learn that their father may still be alive and living in New York.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

It’s an ongoing debate: is Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? The movie follows Jack Skellington, King of Halloween Town (not to be confused with Halloweentown), who discovers Christmas Town. His attempts to bring the spirit of Christmas to his home cause confusion within the community. It's arguably the best animated Halloween movie, and the music is absolutely unstoppable. Danny Elfman can do no wrong!

It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

A classic among the Peanuts movies. The gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin. Watch It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with your little ones, or just for you. We all could use a little Charlie Brown in our lives.

Edward Scissorhands (1990)

From the eccentric mind of Tim Burton comes one of the most beloved Halloween movies, Edward Scissorhands. Watch as Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder pull on our heartstrings with this bittersweet and endearing tale!

The Addams Family (1991)

Everyone's favorite cooky and eccentric family is back in this film adaptation of the classic television series. With Anjelica Houston and Christopher Lloyd at the helm, it's full of heart, laughs, and spooks.

Monster House (2006)

Not gonna lie; this animated film used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid! As an adult, it still kinda freaks me out—but that's our little secret. A trio of kids finds themselves caught up in a supernatural discovery when they discover that their neighbor's house is not at all what it seems.

Casper (1995)

Casper is one of those family-friendly, coming-of-age tales that just hits you in the feels. Watch as Christina Ricci (post-Addams Family) befriends Casper, the friendly ghost, and learns to navigate the wacky, confusing world of relationships.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride is one of my favorites, and it's a must-watch every year! Starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, Corpse Bride tells the story of a soon-to-be-married man accidentally finding himself betrothed to a corpse.

Scooby-Doo Live-Action Movies (2002 and 2004)

Okay, hear me out. Yes, these movies are not the best. I'll give you that. But, they are a helluva lot of fun to watch and bring back so many fun memories as a kid—and that's what we're all here for, right? Follow along with the Scooby gang as they go on two crazy, ghost-filled adventures as they try to solve the mysteries.

Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire (2000)

We round out our list with yet another Disney Channel Original Movie, Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire. When the Hansen kids get grounded and are banned from attending fun events, they're thrilled when their mom gets set up on a date so they can sneak out. There's just one problem ... her date is a vampire.
