Check out the popular content on Netflix without subscribing anymore!

Streaming giant Netflix has launched a new "Watch Free" section this week, featuring popular original content that can be accessed for free. One does not need an account or subscription to watch these shows, and Netflix has made it globally accessible.

In a statement to Gadget360, Netflix confirmed its recent promotion of the free content.

“We’re looking at different marketing promotions to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience,” said a Netflix official.

They believe this step will help them gain a broader audience. However, this feature is available only via a computer (Windows PC or Mac) or Android device and not supported in iOS browsers.

With the free streaming, you will view some of the most popular Netfix original movies like Bird BoxMurder Mystery, and The Two Popes, but for series, only the first episode of the first season is available. Netflix believes that, this way, the audience will get hooked in and then become more willing to subscribe and continue enjoying the shows.

Netflix has done this on a limited basis before. Last year, it released the first episode of Bard of Blood in India and season 2 of Elite in some parts of Latin America for free. Later, it discontinued the free trial service in India and came up with a new plan of ₹5 subscriptions free for the first month for new users. This year, in the U.S., Netflix offered a free movieTo All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, so that more people might subscribe to wtach the movie's sequel, which was being released.

"The selection may change from time to time, so watch now," says Netflix on its site, urging people to start streaming right away!
