Orlando Bloom just lost man’s best friend.
A dog is man’s best friend, and Orlando Bloom knows that better than anyone. His labradoodle "Mighty" has made several appearances on Bloom’s Instagram, and the two are truly attached at the hip. They go everywhere together and have even shared the spotlight on the red carpet.
On Sunday, July 19, Bloom shared a heartbreaking Instagram post with the world, announcing that Mighty had gone missing.
“I don’t recall a time in my life where I’ve been so broken wide open," Bloom wrote as he posted several pictures of Mighty on Instagram. “The rawness I have felt over these past few days and sleepless nights at the idea of my little man being lost and scared, with me unable to do anything to protect him, is a waking nightmare."
Mighty was last seen near Bloom’s home in Montecito, California. Over the past couple of days, Bloom has posted pictures of him in the surrounding area, hoping to be reunited with his canine companion.
According to the Pirates of the Caribbean star, Mighty is chipped and his collar has a number to call if found. Bloom is even offering a reward for any information about his pup.
“Please only REAL INFO,” stated Bloom. “My heart is already broken so please don’t add insult to injury.”
Bloom brought Mighty home in 2017 when he separated from his now-fiancee Katy Perry. Mighty is the spitting image of Perry’s puppy, a teacup poodle named Nugget. Perry has publicly shown her support for Mighty’s search and wrote “I love you” on her fiance’s post about Mighty’s disappearance.
Gwyneth Paltrow also commented, “Orly this is so heartbreaking. I’m so sorry,” while Helena Christensen said, “Sweetest man, I am so so sorry. I know the pain you must feel. I can so relate. I lost my pups for a few hours once and that was enough to tear me apart. I will pray nightly finds his way back to you guys again, the lil one will need him.”
