Send a raven. The final season is coming.

Game of Thrones fans, your wait to see the show's epic conclusion is slowly — and we mean slowly — nearing the end.

Back in January, HBO dropped the slightest hint of season eight's release date when the network announced it would premiere in 2019. But recently, HBO teased fans a bit more after releasing more details on the series.

Don't get too excited.

We still don't know an exact date, but it has been confirmed that season eight will be released in the first half of 2019.

Progress!

The upcoming season will consist of six episodes, but each episode will be longer than those in the past at an hour-and-a-half long. Fans have definitely had time for their anticipation to build, as the season seven finale aired nearly a year ago on a cliffhanger that left everyone guessing.

Need a quick recap? Here's your refresher:

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen consummated their relationship (and are unaware of their family ties). Arya and Sansa Stark executed Littlefinger, and Bran is discovering Jon's true claim to the Iron Throne.

But the climax of the entire season was when the Night King destroyed the Wall — and brought an army of White Walkers along with him to Westeros.

So saddle up, GoT-lovers. Season eight is sure to be the best one yet.
