A new documentary will celebrate the longstanding children's TV show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood -- as well as its founder, the gentle and loveable Fred Rogers.
From Gen X'ers to Millennials, Mister Rogers was always there, guiding us, accepting us, and loving us. When our own neighborhoods were plagued by questions and pain, we always knew we could visit Mister Rogers' Neighborhood for honest answers and comfort. There were no frills or gimmicks in Fred Rogers' delivery -- He was always himself, which encouraged us that it was okay to be ourselves, too.
Now, a new documentary film titled Won't You Be My Neighbor? will be released on June 8, and the trailer is giving us all the feels:
"Love is at the root of everything -- all learning, all relationships," Rogers says in a clip from the documentary. "Love, or the lack of it."
Amen.
