The God of Thunder is back in one of the most ambitious Marvel movies to date! Thor: Ragnarok does what the previous Thor films couldn't: make you laugh. But at what point does the comedy become too much?

The movie finds Thor imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer. He is then forced to participate in a gladiator battle with the Hulk in order to gain his freedom. In a race against the clock to get back to Asgard, Thor must stop Hela, the Goddess of Death, from destroying his home world. I have been waiting for Thor: Ragnarok since the trailer first dropped back in April. And let me tell you, I really enjoyed it, even if it had a few flaws. [gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="4739,4738"] Ragnarok was everything one could have hoped for in a Thor movie -- it had plenty of laughs and silly one-liners. But sometimes the comedy started to become too much. It felt like the filmmakers tried a little too hard to be clever and funny, and I don't think it paid off as well as they'd hoped. Between the cheesy jokes and cringeworthy sight gags, it almost felt as if they were trying to one-up Guardians of the Galaxy. I do think it could have benefited from toning down the comedy and focusing more on the story. But when you take away all of the silly jokes, the film is solid and one of the best additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
By far, one of my favorite moments was when Thor discovered the power he had within himself the entire time -- also known as the Odin Force. What's exciting about this is that it's reminiscent of Rune King Thor from the comics, and it's making me question what other abilities he could potentially have (i.e., can he still fly without Mjölnir?) But it looks like we won't know until we get more information on Avengers: Infinity War, and it doesn't look like we'll be getting anything on that any time soon.
