Friday, June 18

At Toby's Dinner Theatre, Christmas is coming a little early this year! Opening this Friday, follow the adventures of Buddy the Elf as he travels to New York to find his father and discover what "the most wonderful time of year" is really about. New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals | Nationals Park | Washington, DC | Friday-Sunday

America's favorite pastime is back at Nationals Park! All weekend, catch the Nationals play against the New York Mets at their home base in DC's Navy Yard neighborhood. It's just in time for Father's Day too, so you can give dad a day at the ballpark he won't forget! Juneteenth Celebration | Bates Athletic Complex (Weems Whalen Field) | Annapolis, MD | Saturday

Commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans, take part in history with Maryland's very first Juneteenth celebration! The festivities kick off at noon with a parade, followed by a music festival, live performances, craft vendors, and a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation in full. A Swingin' Evening with the Columbia Jazz Band | The Chrysalis at Merriweather Park | Columbia, MD | Saturday

Join Columbia Jazz Band for a delightful outdoor concert at The Chrysalis. Starting at 7 p.m., listeners will be treated to a lineup of the big band classics they've performed for over 30 years now, from Duke Ellington's Take the A Train to Benny Goodman's Sing, Sing, Sing. For an unconventional Father's Day outing, you can't beat shop class! Using a block of maple wood, you and dad can work together to build a one-of-a-kind creation. All skill levels are welcome, and there'll be staff nearby to lend you a hand if you need it. Craft Beer Festival | George Washington's Mount Vernon | Mount Vernon, VA | Saturday-Sunday

FREE admission! Check out the museum's incredible collection for free this Sunday as part of their Community Day program. Admission includes access to over 5,000 pieces of art and new exhibitions, so you'll have plenty to look at during your visit! Transparent Productions Presents: Fujiwara/Halvorson/Bynum Trio | Rhizome DC | Washington, DC | Sunday

The Fujiwara/Halvorson/Bynum Trio are embarking on their first tour in over a decade, and one of the first stops is in DC! Comprised of drummer Tomas Fujiwara, guitarist Mary Halvorson, and brass player Taylor Ho Bynum, the group's eclectic sound will be showcased at the Rhizome DC at 7 p.m. with each of their talents on full display. Join Sky Meadows State Park for an informative event all about apiculture, otherwise known as beekeeping! Father's Day Bohemia Wood-Fired Pizza & Wine | Crow Vineyard & Winery | Kennedyville, MD | Sunday

Crow Vineyard celebrated mom in May, and now it's dad's turn! Between noon and 4 p.m., the winery is rolling out the red carpet for dad with wood-fired pizzas prepared by Chef Paul McCormick.
