12th Annual A Taste of Del Ray To-Go | Del Ray Restaurants, Mount Vernon Ave | Alexandria, VA | Friday-Sunday
One of Virginia's best foodie events is back via takeout! All weekend long, participating restaurants will offer $5 "tastes" and cocktail pairings throughout the Del Ray neighborhood, with a chance to vote for your favorite through the "People's Choice Award." Internationally-renowned artists? Venues within walking distance? Find all of those and more at the Havre de Grace Jazz & Blues Fest! The best players in the genre today will be performing all over the city, from Brandon Woody's Upendo Jocelyn Christian to Maryland's own Clarence Ward III and Irene Jalenti. Blur the lines between reality and fantasy with a trip to Royal Rabbit Vineyards! This all-day event held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. will celebrate the season in all its glory. Explore a magical landscape of artisanal wares and food trucks while lush wines and brinjal music flows through the vineyard. You'll want to don your most majestic outfit for the costume party! National Trails Day Hike | Elk Neck State Park | North East, MD | Saturday
National Trails Day is on Saturday, and what better way to celebrate the occasion than going on a hike? Explore Elk Neck State Park with a ranger, who'll guide you along the two-mile park's scenic trails and the historic Turkey Point Lighthouse. 826DC's Half-Half-Half-Half-Half Marathon (Virtual) | Washington, DC | Saturday
This virtual fundraiser from non-profit 826DC supports a wonderful cause in an unconventional way! Participants will run (or walk) 0.826 miles to support writing resources for children in the District, which covers everything from homework help to writing workshops. Spring 2021 Occoquan Artisan Market | Town of Occoquan—River Mill Park | Occoquan, VA | Saturday-Sunday
Wanna shop 'til you drop? Then head on over to Occoquan's annual artisan market! Held in River Mill Park, shoppers can browse over 50 vendors and eateries along the scenic Occoquan River. FREE event! As part of WoCo Fest 2021 honoring women composers, musician Julie Zhu is capping things off with a lovely performance at Washington National Cathedral. Join her at 4 p.m. for renditions of Cindy Cox's "Mysterium Coiunctionis," Suzanne Magassy's "The Shearer's Dream," and Zhu's own "As Swiftly and Fading as Soon" at the cathedral's Garth refuge.
