The D.C. neighborhood festivals just don't stop -- even in the fall! Come discover an often-forgotten neighborhood -- Barracks Row!

The Barracks Row area in D.C. is one of the most historic neighborhoods that often does not get the attention it deserves! In its 15th year, the Barracks Row community festival continues on September 24. Starting on 8th and E St. SE, this party continues all throughout the neighborhood with a fair-like atmosphere and laid-back vibe! [gallery size="large" ids="4312,4315,4314"] The party kicks off at 11 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. Don't worry, though: many bars and restaurants will keep the party going late into the night!
The best part about Barracks Row? You can eat your way through the festival! Barracks Row restaurant staples -- like Matchbox, Belga, and Cava Mezze (to name a few) -- will have their doors open with small tents to sell their famous eats. There will even be food trucks throughout the streets! Chefs from the White House will be on hand to announce the winner of the Top Chef in the U.S. Military, and there will be barbecues and friendly cook-offs among all the restaurants so you're sure to get some of the best food D.C. has to offer! While you eat a slice of pizza or get in your fix of ribs, take in all the different entertainment acts that the neighborhood has planned! From trapeze artists in the skies above to drone demonstrations to some of D.C.'s best a capella groups, there will be enough to keep you amazed. Also, don't forget to walk around the booths and support local artists selling everything from crafts to clothes. For a full rundown of the day's schedule, keep an eye out on the event's Facebook page!
