Get ready to shake the quarantine doldrums with some dancing fun!
If you love Bollywood movies, Indian music, or just having a good time, then this is the perfect activity for you. Twice a week, Studio Dhoom in Ashburn, Virginia, is offering a free Bollywood dance class for anyone who wants to join in. Appropriate for the whole family, this is a great way to get moving while you're stuck at home.
All you have to do is head to the studio's website and register for your preferred class. On Thursdays, the class is from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. and on Fridays, class is from 5 to 5:45 p.m. A Zoom meeting and password will be sent to you so all you have to do is connect on class day.
Just to give you an idea of what to expect, check out this great video that some of the studio's dancers did out on the National Mall:
Don't worry if you don't have a traditional Bollywood outfit; you can dance in any comfortable clothes that you would wear to work out in. Clear space so you can really move around, and you probably want to stretch a little beforehand.
Bollywood dances are known for their fun, energetic flair, and the upbeat music is pretty much irresistible. Think Zumba, but with an Indian twist.
