Cirque du Soleil announced it will return to Denver next year with its first sports-inspired show.
VOLTA, Cirque de Soleil's 41st production, is coming to the Pepsi Center's Prius West Lot from April 20 to June 7, 2020.
VOLTA is also Cirque du Soleil's 18th production under the Big Top, the entertainment company's mobile artistic tent, reminiscent of traditional circus entertainment. The Big Top, also known as Grand Chapiteau, is designed to reduce environmental impact.
Cirque de Soleil describes VOLTA as an energetic and contemporary voyage of discovery. The show, which will showcase never-before-seen acrobatics under the Big Top, tells the story of a game show contestant who feels lost. He joins the show in search of acceptance and fame. In its essence, VOLTA's message is about finding yourself and unveiling an individual's true potential.
The production features classic Cirque du Soleil acts, like acrobatic ladders, aerial straps, contemporary dance, and more. It also features its own take on street sports, like BMX acts and a flatland BMX and ballet duo act.

The production features a melodic score by Anthony Gonzalez, a member of the French electronic group M83. The score is inspired by the adventurous spirit that energizes the street sports culture.
Tickets for VOLTA are on sale, starting at $49. For more information on VOLTA and ticket prices, visit cirquedusoleil.com/volta.
