Calling all retrievers and their owners!

The city of Golden is hosting a celebration this Sunday, February 3, in honor of International Golden Retriever Day, and goldens and their humans alike are invited! So if you're a proud owner of a retriever, this is one event you don't want to miss!

And if you're worried about this adorable event cutting into the Super Bowl, don't. The event starts at noon, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy both!

When: Sunday, February 3 from 12-1:30 p.m.
Where: Golden Visitors Center, 1010 Washington Ave.

Celebrations include a walk through the city, a photo op, plenty of treats and giveaways, and so much more. The first 100 goldens will also receive a free toy from KONG, which was founded in Golden.

City officials do ask that all owners have their pups on a leash at all times and to clean up after them. And while this event is being sponsored by the Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies, it is not an adoption event. However, the rescue center encourages those interested in adopting to visit their website.
