Dallas was aglow with the annual Water Lantern Festival
This family-friendly event is centered around eco-friendly and biodegradable water lanterns made from wood and rice paper that collect hopes and dreams. Each adult ticket purchase includes one lantern, a marker, a drawstring bag, and a wristband. Every year this event brings people from all over of different ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds together for an evening of local food trucks, peaceful meditation, relaxing music, and even the chance to participate in a scavenger hunt for prizes. Once a ticket is bought it ensures that the lanterns are cleaned up and the waterway is clear of all debris leaving nature as it should be. There is even an option to donate to water.org, an organization that has changed millions of people's lives around the world with safe water and sanitation practices.

Just up the hill from the pond are where you can find refreshments and even palm/tarot card readers all awaiting to make this gathering even more worth checking out. Although the festival is only one day they hold it every year towards the end of October when it is cooler out. The event guide suggests to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on, however, they do sell mandala throws and water chairs at the gates of the festival along with many other festival merch. So if your looking for a date night or just a family outing look no further. Come out and enjoy the calming vibes of the Dallas Water Lantern Festival community.
