Event starts October 1 and runs through the end of the month.
The Denver Zoo made a lot of people very happy when it announced that its annual Boo at the Zoo event was still on and gearing up for some spooky fun.
Boo at the Zoo will start on October 1 and run daily through October 31. This year's theme is "Storybook Safari," and the zoo says it will be a modified, masked version of this family-favorite event.
In order to help make it a safe environment for all, this year's event will be candy-free to avoid unnecessary contact, which is a departure from past years. Admission will still on a timed basis, visitors are asked to wear masks and take a one-way path through the zoo, and hand sanitizer will be available.
Despite the lack of sugar, which may actually thrill some parents, the zoo says there is still plenty of fun to be had thanks to costumes, animals, and seasonally themed food and drink available.
"Throughout our 84-acre campus, classic animal stories and fairy tales come to life with costumed characters, mythical creatures, unforgettable animal experiences and food fit for a king or queen! And don’t forget: Nature Connects®, Art with LEGO Bricks will still be up for your enjoyment, too!" the zoo said in a press release.
Boo at the Zoo hours are:
- Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry at 3:15 p.m.)
- Friday-Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last entry at 4:15 p.m.)
"Get the whole family suited up in costume, and come celebrate Halloween in a way that’s safe, socially distanced and candy-free…but still VERY sweet," the zoo said.
The Boo at the Zoo activities are included with timed general admission and member tickets. Learn more on the Denver Zoo website.
